About Patron Services and Responsibilities

The Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library welcomes visitors.  All may attend our programs, use our computer stations (including scanners) and WiFi, and read materials in-house, free-of-charge.

Patrons holding a library card from any library in the Mid-Hudson Library System may borrow, return and reserve physical library materials at our Milton Library, and access electronic materials through the Libby app.  Those who hold cards from MHLS libraries within Ulster County also benefit from additional shared county resources, including:  streaming services and databases, museum passes, and language learning programs.  A library card specifically for the Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library is required to access some electronic services (for instance, Hoopla).

All visitors may avail themselves of our printers, copier and fax machine for a per page charge: copies/prints in black & white, 15 cents, in color, 25 cents; sent fax pages, 2 dollars for the first page, 1 dollar for each additional page.  Our friendly staff patiently helps patrons with navigating our computers and their personal digital devices, and appointments for up to 30 minutes can be made for one-on-one help.

We respect patrons’ Freedom to Read and Freedom to View:  https://www.ala.org/advocacy/intfreedom/freedomreadstatement
